From doctor’s visits to remote work, school, and socializing, nearly everything happens online. But for many in rural communities, access to this vital connectivity isn’t guaranteed—especially without someone willing to build the infrastructure to make it happen.
That’s where cooperatives like Pioneer Telephone step in.
A cooperative is a community-owned organization where you’re not just a customer—you’re a member with a voice. You help elect a board of trustees, vote on big decisions, and play a role in shaping the future of your cooperative.
And with Pioneer’s 72nd Annual Meeting happening tomorrow—May 6, 2025—you’ve got a chance to make your voice heard.
Here at Pioneer, we’re working hard to bring state-of-the-art fiber connectivity to even the most remote parts of rural Oklahoma.
This isn’t just about fast internet speeds—it’s about empowering families, farmers, students, and small businesses with the tools they need to thrive. While many major providers avoid rural areas due to low population density and limited return on investment, we see the value in every community.
And as a not-for-profit cooperative, our revenue doesn’t go to shareholders. Instead, it’s reinvested into expanding and improving your service—or returned to members like you through capital credits and community programs.
This year’s Annual Meeting will be one of our shortest to date—but it’s still packed with purpose. You’ll hear updates on our progress, meet our newest trustees, and help steer the direction of your cooperative.
Can’t stay? No problem!
As approved by members in 2023, we’re offering drive-by registration starting at 7:30 AM. That means you can swing by, register from your vehicle, grab your free gift and breakfast to-go, and still make it to work on time.
Don’t forget to bring your Annual Report, which was recieved by mail a few weeks ago—it’s required for registration!
We can’t wait to see you there!
